Professor Andrew Scholey BSc (Hons) PhD CPsychol AFBPsS

Professor Scholey has extensive experience in psychopharmacology. He is a leading researcher into the neurocognitive effects of various interventions – including recreational drugs, medicines, and nutritional interventions. He has been involved in over 100 clinical trials, published > 275 peer-reviewed journal articles and been awarded > $25 million in research funding. He is placed in the top 1% of researchers in all science disciplines based on citation indicators, with high field impact in Psychiatry, Nutrition & Dietetics, and Clinical Science

Professor Scholey was Lead Investigator on a series of first-into-human studies into the human biobehavioural effects of nutritional interventions, focusing on potential nootropic and anti-stress/anxiolytic properties. His more recent research has focused on disease prevention and treatment and neuroimaging/biomarker techniques to better understand the mechanisms of cognitive change. He has advised the UK and Canadian government on health policy, and works closely with industry to translate research into evidence-based, end-user health benefits.
